The Smalls Show

Gallery 46, an extension of Mid-City Artisans, is a 1,600 square foot gallery located in the contemporary Square 46 development in Baton Rouge. The gallery seeks to promote both Louisiana and national artists through its artist spotlight series and themed, open-call shows.

This exhibition is open to artists ages 18 and up residing in the United States. Acceptable media include painting (all media), drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, and collage. Artwork must be original in design and execution. Work deemed inappropriate for public viewing by all ages will not be accepted. Maximum artwork size is 20" x 20" framed or unframed canvas. All works must be framed unless painted on minimum 1½ inch gallery-wrapped canvas with painted sides. Artwork must arrive ready to hang with properly attached screw eyes/D-rings and wire. Frames must be simple, plain, non-ornate, and no wider than 3". Sculpture and ceramics must have a base no larger than 20 inches. The artist's name and title of work must be clearly identified on the back.

Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable). Submissions should include 1-3 images. Accepted entries will be notified by email on October 3. Shipped artwork must arrive between October 4 and October 18. Hand-delivered works are received October 4-18, 10am-4pm (closed Mondays) at Gallery 46, 515 Mouton Street, Suite 202, Baton Rouge. The exhibition runs October 20 - December 29, 2022. Awards include First Place ($150), Second Place ($100), and Third Place ($50), with additional Merit, Honorable Mention, and Merchandise Awards possible. Gallery 46 charges a 30% commission on sales. Artwork not sold must be picked up between December 30, 2022 and January 8, 10am-4pm (closed Mondays). Shipping costs are the artist's responsibility in both directions unless the work is sold.
