The Small Works Exhibit 2024

Art Works Downtown invites SF Bay Area artists to participate in The Small Works Exhibit, an annual showcase of quality fine art featuring over 80 unique artworks in Gallery 1337. The exhibit runs November 22, 2024–January 25, 2025.

Eligibility: SF Bay Area artists only (must live within 100 miles of San Rafael, California). Artwork must be smaller than 18"x18"x18" including frame, stand, and all materials. Open to all visual arts media; video must be silent and include player, monitor, and headphones. Original artwork only—no giclées or reproductions, though editions are acceptable if they are original works such as printmaking, photography, or limited original digital art. Submissions must not have been previously exhibited in Gallery 1337, and artwork must be for sale. Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 separate artwork entries; discounts available for AWD Artist Members.

Deadline: October 24, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification by email November 1–2, 2024. Accepted work must be hand-delivered November 14–16, 2024, 12–6 pm to Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth St., San Rafael. Opening reception and 2nd Friday Art Walk: December 13, 2024, 5–8 pm and January 10, 2025, 5–8 pm. Pick up unsold artwork January 30–February 1, 2025. Juror: Paul Mahder, Director of Paul Mahder Gallery. Art Works Downtown accepts a 40% donation upon sale. Artists who do not retrieve their work will be charged a storage fee of $5.00 per day; works remaining after 30 days become the property of Art Works Downtown. Submit through callforentry.org.
