The Small Works Exhibit 2022 at Art Works Downtown

Art Works Downtown invites SF Bay Area artists to participate in The Small Works Exhibit, an annual showcase of fine art featuring over 70 unique artworks in Gallery 1337. The exhibition runs from December through January, with an opening reception on December 9, 5–8pm and a second reception on January 13, 5–8pm.

Eligibility and Requirements: Only artists living within 100 miles of San Rafael, California are eligible. Artwork must not exceed 18"x18"x18" including frame, stand, and all materials. All visual arts media are welcome; video must be silent and include player, monitor, and headphones within the size limit (projections prohibited). Only original artwork is accepted—no giclées or reproductions, though editions are acceptable if they are original works such as printmaking, photography, or limited original digital art. Artwork must not have previously exhibited at AWD Gallery 1337 and must be for sale. Entry fee is $40.00. Submit 1–3 work samples (images and/or video) through CallForEntry.org by October 20, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.

Timeline and Logistics: Notification of acceptance will be sent by email on October 27–28. Accepted work must be hand-delivered to Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth St., San Rafael on November 12, 10am–8pm or November 13, 10am–5pm. Wall-hung artwork must be securely wired and ready for installation. Artists must deliver an artist statement and resume. The Consignment Contract must be completed and signed at delivery. Unsold artwork may be picked up January 26–28, 1pm–8pm. Art Works Downtown retains a 40% donation upon sale; artists are responsible for donating 40% of the net sale total. Works not retrieved after 30 days will become property of Art Works Downtown, with a storage fee of $5.00 per day. Juror: Emebet Korn, owner and director of Desta Gallery, Mill Valley, CA.
