About This Call
The Sixth Annual Fine Art of Photography Exhibition is open to all photographers and artists submitting photography. Painted photographs, digital artwork not created through photography, or other mixed media artwork containing photographs in part will not be accepted. All work must be for sale. Membership is not required.
Three categories are available: Color, Black and White, and Non-Traditional Photography. Color and Black and White categories accept traditional photography with conventional post-processing techniques that enhance appearance without changing pictorial content. Cropping, sharpening, and removal of dust specks are allowed. Black and White includes monochromatic and sepia tones. Non-Traditional Photography includes Digitally Enhanced images (digitally enhanced beyond the appearance of a photograph), Vintage and Alternative Printing Processes (photogram, daguerreotype, tintype, collodion, Mordançage, and other organic printing methods), and Pinhole/Plastic Camera Imagery (analog photography including pinhole cameras and plastic cameras like Holga, Diana, and Lomo).
Entry fee is $10.00 for the first image and $10.00 per additional image. Submit 1-10 images between January 7, 2016 and February 15, 2016 through CaFÉ. There is no limit to the number of entries, but only two images per artist will be juried for exhibition, and only one award will be given per artist. Accepted artists will be notified by March 1, 2016. Accepted work must be delivered framed, wired, and ready for hanging (not exceeding 48" in any direction) on April 3, 2016 (Noon-4:00pm) or April 4, 2016 (4:00pm-7:00pm). The exhibition runs April 10 through May 14, 2016, with a reception and awards ceremony on April 10, 2016 (2-5pm). Awards include $500 Best in Show, $250 First Place and $100 Second Place per category, and two Honorable Mentions per category. Plymouth Guild receives commission on sales: 30% from members, 40% from non-members.
