The Shape of Change

The Shape of Change is an all-media national juried show exploring the theme of artists as agents of change throughout history. The exhibition considers how artists bear witness to, interpret, and disclose the human impact of our state of being—whether political, physical, scientific, psychological, aesthetic, or intellectual. The juror is Amy Eva Raehse, Executive Director and Partner at Goya Contemporary Gallery, with extensive experience curating exhibitions and placing artworks in major public and private collections including MoMA, The MET, the Smithsonian, and the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Submit up to six digital files (images, video, or a combination) with a $25 entry fee. All accepted work must be ready to hang or display. Two-dimensional work must have braided picture wire on the back; fragile media should be under Plexiglas. Installation art must be prepared by the artist or include easy-to-follow instructions. The gallery has a flat screen for video and access to video equipment including a projector. All works are insured against physical damage or loss from receipt through designated pickup time. Artists are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the gallery.

Delivery date for accepted work is November 12, 2018. The exhibition runs November 28, 2018 through January 25, 2019 at the Cade Art Gallery, John A. Cade Center for Fine Arts, Anne Arundel Community College, 101 College Parkway, Arnold, MD 21012. A juror's talk is scheduled for November 28, 2018 at 5:30 p.m., with a public reception from 5–7 p.m. Artwork return and pickup is January 30–February 1, 2019 (contact to arrange pickup time).
