About This Call
The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County invites artists from Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade County to participate in the 2021 Centennial Card Set Design Competition celebrating the 100th Anniversary of The Salvation Army of Palm Beach. Artists are invited to submit artwork reflecting one or more of the following core values: Passion, Compassion, Uplifting, Brave, Trustworthy, or the Centennial Anniversary itself. The artwork does not have to relate to The Salvation Army directly and can be any subject matter, including abstract work.
Accepted mediums include painting (oil, acrylic, or watercolor on canvas, board, or watercolor paper), photography (documentary, fine art, photojournalism, experimental, personal, abstract, human, or street photography), sculpture, and mixed-media. All submissions must be original work by the artist and not derivative pieces. Only digital images will be accepted for judging. Artists are restricted to one entry with up to two pieces of work. Photo releases and/or property releases are required for pieces containing persons or trademarked elements. Selected works must not exceed 5'x5' for the gallery presentation.
Entry fee is $35.00. Submissions are open from October 1, 2021 through November 15, 2021. Prize money: $3,500 for 1st Place and $1,500 each for 2nd–6th Place. The six winning pieces will be printed on high-quality card stock and bundled into an elegant gift set, with each card including a short bio of the artist and description of the value represented. Winners will be honored at an evening reception at The Norton Museum on March 2, 2022. Card gift sets will be distributed at the Norton reception and at other events during The Salvation Army's 100th year in Palm Beach County.
