The Runway Show @ Uncommon Threads 2022

Artists are invited to apply for The Runway Show @ Uncommon Threads 2022, an art-to-wear exhibition featuring fiber and jewelry artists from across the country. Accepted artists will have 3-5 garments displayed on the runway stage, with the opportunity to sell additional items in the vendors' booth area.

The event takes place on October 16, 2022 (10 am – 4 pm) at Abbington Distinctive Banquets, 3S002 IL Rte. 53, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. The indoor event includes a boutique shopping area, luncheon, and runway show. Awards include Best of Show ($250), Best New Uncommon Threads Artist ($200), and People's Choice Award ($100).

Participation is open to wearable fiber artists 18 years or older who reside and work in the United States. Work must be one-of-a-kind original garments in fiber-related media, completed within the last two years. Children's garments are not accepted. Artists must submit five images (four different garments plus one detail shot) and a brief artist statement. The entry fee is $25 (non-refundable jury fee). All work must be for sale; Fine Line retains a 35% commission on pieces sold. Accepted artists may submit up to 10 additional garments and 30 accessory items (priced below $250) for the Fine Line Managed Booth, and may rent an Independent Artist Booth space for an additional $40 fee. Items may be hand-delivered to Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles, IL, or shipped at the artist's expense. Work is insured while in Fine Line's possession; artists are responsible for transit insurance and return shipping. Application deadline: June 6, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of accepted artists: mid-June.
