About This Call
The Route Towards Equity is a national juried exhibition open to all visual mediums. The exhibit is juried by Ix-Nic Iruegas, Executive Director of the Mexican Cultural Institute DC.
Eligibility: Artists over the age of 18 working in all media are eligible to apply. Entry fee is $15.00. Submit up to 5 artworks with an artist statement for each work. Work samples may include up to 5 images and 2 videos (minimum 1 total sample required). All accepted work must be ready to hang or display. Two-dimensional work must have a braided picture wire on the back. Fragile media should be under plexiglass. Installation art must be prepared by the artist or have instructions that are easy to follow. The gallery has a flat screen video and access to some types of video equipment, including a projector. Artwork must be available from November 2021 through February 2022. Artists selected for the show are responsible for shipping artworks to the gallery and providing prepaid return shipping. All works are insured against physical damage or loss from receipt through designated pickup time.
Timeline: Entry deadline is October 31, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Jurying is completed by November 5, with artist notification on November 6. Artwork drop-off is November 15 and 19 (contact to arrange drop-off time); shipped artwork must be received by November 19. Exhibition runs December 2, 2021 through January 28, 2022 (gallery closed December 20 - January 7 for winter break). Public reception and juror talk is December 8, 5-7 p.m. The Cade Center for Fine Arts Gallery is located at 101 College Parkway, Arnold, MD 21012.
