About This Call
Baton Rouge Gallery hosts the Real Life Experience Juried High School Exhibition, a tradition designed to inspire local high school artists by providing them an opportunity to display their work in a professional artistic venue while celebrating the importance of arts education. The exhibition will be held from March 27 - April 26, 2026, with winners announced and awarded prizes at the opening reception on April 1, 6 - 9 pm.
The exhibition is open to any media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, photography, video, or mixed media. Work must be physical and tangible and able to be displayed for the duration of the exhibition. All two-dimensional works must be ready to hang for a professional gallery and must be framed if selected for inclusion. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Winners, as well as honorable mentions, as chosen by a panel of three professional artists.
All work is encouraged to be for sale at realistic prices that promote sales. Baton Rouge Gallery will retain a 50% commission from all sales and does not allow Price on Request (POR) designations. Eligibility is limited to public, private, and home-schooled high school students, grades 9 - 12, in East Baton Rouge Parish with home addresses located within the parish. Art instructors are responsible for submitting applications on behalf of their students, with submissions limited to 20 pieces per instructor. There are no fees associated with submission.
