The Printed Image 6

The Printed Image 6 is a national competition supporting artists working in hand-pulled print media. The exhibition will be hosted at the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library in Topeka, Kansas, running from November 4 - December 30, 2016. The competition is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Eligible artists are 18 years of age or older and currently residing in the United States. Eligible prints include any hand-pulled print technique, including intaglio, relief, serigraph, lithograph, photogravure, collagraph, monoprint and monotype, and broadsides. Three-dimensional prints are also eligible. Non-eligible prints include photography, digital prints, and photocopier prints. All work must be hand-pulled, framed, and ready to display behind non-breakable plastic (no glass). Prints must be no more than 3 years old (2013 or newer) and not previously exhibited in The Printed Image. Entry fee is $35 for up to three works. Artists will be notified of acceptance by August 8, 2016.

The juror is Stephen Goddard, associate director and senior curator of works on paper at the Spencer Museum of Art, with over thirty-one years of experience in printmaking and print connoisseurship. Juror's Awards will be announced at the Awards Reception on Saturday, November 12. Purchase Awards will become part of the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library's permanent art collection.
