About This Call
The Printed Image 5 is a juried exhibition of hand-pulled prints at the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery. The exhibition runs April 18 – June 8, 2014. Juror Tom Huck is a visual artist best known for his large-scale woodcuts. His work is included in collections at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, St. Louis Art Museum, Milwaukee Art Museum, Minneapolis Institute of Art, Fogg Art Museum, and New York Public Library.
Eligible artists are 18 years of age or older and currently residing in the United States. All work must be hand-pulled, framed, and ready to display behind non-breakable plastic (no glass). Eligible print techniques include intaglio, relief, serigraph, lithograph, photogravure, collagraph, monoprint, monotype, and broadsides. Three-dimensional prints are also eligible. Non-eligible prints include photography, digital prints, and photocopier prints. Maximum size is 96 x 96 inches with a maximum weight of 50 lbs. Prints must be no more than two years old and not previously exhibited in The Printed Image. Entry fee is $35 for up to four works. Entries are submitted through CaFÉ at https://www.callforentry.org/. Image specifications: JPEG format only, minimum 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, 3 MB maximum file size.
Accepted artists will be notified by email on February 24, 2014. Accepted artwork must be delivered between March 3–16, 2014. All accepted works are insured while on site until June 15, 2014. Juror's cash awards will be announced at the opening reception on April 18, 2014 at 5:30 pm. Works receiving a Friends of the Library Purchase Award will be added to the Library's permanent collection. The Sabatini Gallery does not charge a commission fee on sales.
