The Pleasure of Small Art

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork to this exhibition. The gallery celebrates art in diminutive, compact, and miniature forms, believing that small works can reflect big ideas, visions, and talent. Artwork must be no longer than 18 inches on the longest side, with no restrictions on subject matter or style. Sculpture should not exceed 24 inches on any dimension. Accepted mediums include painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, ink, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography.

Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to a maximum of 9 total images. All images must be submitted as JPEG files under 5 MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Submissions must include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion. The entry deadline is August 8, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified on or about September 19, 2024. Accepted artwork must arrive at the gallery no later than October 19, 2024. The exhibition runs from October 23 through November 21, 2024.

Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for secure installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Plexiglass is preferred over standard glass. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs both to and from the gallery and must provide a prepaid return shipping label. Awards include an "Art of Distinction" Award featuring a special exhibition, an Annual Grand Prize offering a New York City exhibition opportunity, and an optional Director's Choice Award of $200. For accepted sales, artists receive 70% of the final sale price with the gallery retaining 30%.
