The Perfect Age - Reflections on the Passage of Time

Hera Gallery invites artists working in all media—2D, 3D, and video—to submit work exploring the passage of time and the aging process. The exhibition examines what it means to age and how aging is perceived across cultures and time periods. Consider how society perceives aging from infancy through old age, how memories and stories change over time, and how aging extends to other living things and inanimate objects such as animals, oceans, soils, stars, machines, roads, water systems, and architecture. The exhibition also explores ageism as a socially constructed system and its intersections with race, class, and gender, as well as how economic markets influence these categories.

Submission Requirements: Submit 1-5 images of your work. Entry fee is $35. 3D work is limited to 100 lbs and must fit through a 5'10" x 6'8" door. 2D work must also fit through the same door. All media is welcomed.

Exhibition Details: Exhibition dates are May 14 - June 18, 2022. Artwork must be delivered to the gallery by Friday, May 6, 2022. Artists will be notified of acceptance by April 11, 2022. Hera Gallery retains a 40% sales commission. Artists are responsible for return shipping costs and must include a prepaid return shipping label. Artists are responsible for their own insurance. Hera Gallery reserves the right to photograph work for publicity purposes.
