About This Call
Studio Channel Islands invites artists to submit their most recent breakthrough pieces for this all-media exhibition. All media and styles are welcome, including 2D/3D works, video, film, performance, sound, and installation art. All submissions must be original artwork completed within the last three years. Artists must be 18 years or older. The entry fee is $55 for non-members and $35 for members with coupon code.
Submissions may include up to 6 images, 6 audio files, and/or 6 video files (minimum 1 total sample required). 2D artwork must be no larger than 8 feet high. All artwork must be delivered ready to hang with appropriate hardware. Pedestals will be provided for 3D artwork. Artists must indicate vertical or horizontal orientation and include any special installation instructions; the installation team will consider requests but makes final decisions on cost and safety.
The exhibition runs August 3 - September 28, 2024, with an opening reception on August 3 from 4-6 PM. The juror is Dr. Mika Cho, Professor of Art & Director of the Ronald H. Silverman Fine Arts Gallery at California State University, Los Angeles. Awards include 1st Place $1,000, 2nd Place $750, and 3rd Place $500, plus professional installation documentation of the exhibition (valued at $1,500) provided to all accepted artists. Artist notification date is July 16. Artwork must be received by July 29, with drop-off on July 30 from 9 AM-6 PM. Pick-up day is October 1 from 9 AM-6:30 PM.
