About This Call
Studio Channel Islands invites artists to submit their most recent breakthrough pieces for The Next Big Thing 2020 exhibition. All media and styles are welcome, including 2D/3D works, video, film, performance, sound, and installation art. All submissions must be the artist's original work. The exhibition is international and open to both members and non-members.
Entry fee is $45 for non-members and $35 for members with coupon code. Submissions must include 1-6 total work samples (images and/or videos). The juror is Leah Ollman, a visual arts writer for the Los Angeles Times, Art in America, and numerous other publications.
Awards: The juror will select three works for cash prizes: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $200, 3rd Place $100. Exhibition dates are August 1 - September 12, 2020. Artist notification is July 17, with artwork drop-off on July 28 (9am-6pm). The opening reception is August 1, 4pm-6pm, with winners announced at 4:45pm. Pickup day is September 15, 9am-6:30pm. The gallery will remain open for the duration of the exhibition unless otherwise mandated by local or state government or if the risk to public safety becomes too great.
