The New Vanguard - Explorations into the New Contemporary IV

The New Vanguard: Explorations into the New Contemporary IV is an international juried competition open to all artists 18 years or older working in painting, printmaking, drawing, mixed media, digital, collage, fiber, sculpture, and photography. The competition seeks art that pushes boundaries in genres including High Brow, Low Brow, Pop Surrealism, Hyperrealism, Graffiti Art, and Abstract Art. Artwork must have been executed in the last five years. Artwork created under the supervision of an instructor is not eligible.

Submission Requirements: Submit 3-6 images. Entry fee is $40 for three images, plus $5 for each additional image. 2D work maximum dimensions are 6x10 feet and must not weigh more than 50 lbs uncrated. 3D work may not exceed 80"x32"x48" and must not exceed 50 lbs. Submission deadline is December 19, 2022. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent by January 2, 2023.

Exhibition Details: Exhibition dates are January 20 – February 12, 2023, at KEEP Contemporary in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Artist reception is Friday, January 20, 5:00-8:00pm. Deadline for receiving shipped work is January 16, 2023. Shipped work will be returned the week of February 13, 2023. Hand-delivered work pickup is Tuesday, February 14, 2023, 11:00am-5:00pm. The gallery retains a 40% commission on all sales. All artwork must be for sale with prices determined by the artist. Artwork will be insured by the gallery for the duration of the exhibit and must remain on display. 2D artwork must be wired for hanging. The artist is responsible for all shipping costs and insurance during transit. All shipped work must include a prepaid return shipping label and be sent in reusable cartons or crates.
