About This Call
"The New Nouveau" is a group art show inspired by Art Nouveau, hosted and curated by FE Gallery in Sacramento, CA. The best in show receives a $500.00 prize. Work from the show will be available to view and purchase both in the gallery and on the website.
The gallery is seeking art with fluid, rhythmic, asymmetrical lines that define and decorate their subjects. All 2D and 3D mediums are accepted; film, audio, and performing art are not accepted at this time. Digital and photography art must be printed. All work must be ready to display (framed/wired, etc.). Inquire via email about installations or unusually large pieces. Art will be selected by a private group of gallery associates who will consider theme relevance, subject matter, technical skill, editing and finishing, price, size, and medium. Each artist is limited to six pieces maximum.
Submission requirements: Submit one digital image per art piece; if including a detail shot, combine into a single split image. For diptychs or triptychs, submit as a single image. Include final price (accounting for framing, shipping, and the gallery's 40% commission), dimensions with and without frame, and medium(s). All art must be original and submitted by the copyright owner. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Entry fee is $20.00 with an additional $5.00 media fee for extra images (1-6 images accepted). The application deadline is May 31st, 2018 at 11:59 PM MDT. Art delivery deadline is July 31st, 2018. The exhibit runs August 11th – September 28th, 2018. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9am-4pm, Saturday by appointment, Sunday closed. Opening reception is Saturday, August 11th, 6-9pm; closing reception is Friday, September 28th, 6-9pm. Art pick-up or return shipping occurs October 1st-5th, 2018.
