About This Call

The Ned and Gloria Griner Art Gallery at Ball State University is seeking exhibitions for the 2026-27 season. The call is open to all artists for solo or small group shows (2-4 artists). All media and styles will be accepted, and diversity is encouraged in all forms.

The gallery's audience includes students from all departments and disciplines of the university and art enthusiasts from the region, including regional arts organizations and universities. Accepted shows include a reception and artist's talk with the opportunity for further engagements with students and faculty.

Available exhibition slots are: October 20 – November 12, 2026 (reception October 21); November 18 – December 10 (reception November 18); and January 15 – February 11 (reception January 15). Proposals must include exhibition title, detailed concept and description, artist statement, curriculum vitae for all participants, 8-12 high resolution images (300 dpi in JPEG or PNG), image list with artist name, title, medium, date, dimensions/duration, installation requirements, and budget. Accepted artists should plan to travel to Ball State University for a gallery talk, reception, and further engagements with students and faculty.

Funding is available for one-person shows ($1000 honorarium for install/deinstall and lecture/event, $400 for transporting work, and travel/lodging/meals ranging from $250 to $1800 depending on distance). Two-person shows receive $750 per artist for honorarium, $250 per artist for transporting work, and distance-based travel/lodging/meals. Group show proposals must include a budget for participating artists/curators, work transportation, and travel/lodging/meals for one or more artist/curator. Deadline: March 10, 2026.
