The MoPho Challenge: Mobile Phone Photography Competition

The MoPho Challenge is a juried mobile phone photography competition hosted by Stein Ward Studio. Open to amateur and professional photographers worldwide, the competition recognizes photographers for their work in an open theme event. Selected works will be placed in the gallery's online gallery. Color, black and white, grayscale, monochrome, and sepia works are accepted. All photos must have been produced using mobile devices other than traditional cameras (analog, film, DSLR, mirrorless, etc.), including cellular phones and tablets.

The theme is open, but subject matter must be family friendly with no nudity or vulgarity permitted. Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 entries. Artists may submit a maximum of 3 works, either all in a single class or in a combination of color and black and white classes. All entries must be original work by the artist with no signatures, borders, watermarks, or AI-generated content. Minor editing such as cropping, saturation adjustments, color corrections, and similar software filters are permitted.

Over $500 in cash and prizes will be awarded. Best of Show winners in both color and black and white categories receive $100 cash plus one free entry into a future call ($35 value). Honorable Mention winners receive free entries into future calls. For every 100 entries, the gallery adds an extra $50 in prize money split between the two Best of Show winners. Entries are juried February 16-17, 2024, with notifications emailed on or before February 17, 2024. Gallery selections will display the week of February 20, 2024. Images must be in JPG format, minimum 1200 pixels on the longest side, up to 5MB file size, and must be titled.
