The Mohawk Trail 100th Anniversary Photography Exhibition

base camp photo is reviving a juried exhibition of photographs taken along the Mohawk Trail to celebrate the Trail's 100th Anniversary as the nation's first scenic highway. The first exhibition of this kind was held in 1953. Photographers are invited to submit images taken in 2013-14 along the side of the road of the Mohawk Trail. Subject matter is open and may include people, signs, close-ups, landscapes, and portraits, but photos must have been taken along the Mohawk Trail.

Submissions are accepted in two categories: Youth (16 and under) and General. Entry fee is $19.14 for 2 images or $30 for 4 images. All images must include the location where they were shot. Selected photos can be up to 16x20 framed or canvas prints. Photographs may have digital enhancement and HDR, but no extreme Photoshop or illustrations. All submitted photos must have been taken by the photographer making the entry. Approximately 50 entries (25 youth and 25 adult) will be selected for exhibition at base camp photo's gallery in Greenfield. Selected works will also be highlighted on the Mohawk Trail website and websites of regional business associations. All non-winning entries will be viewable on the websites alongside archival pictures.

The exhibition runs January 25 - February 28, 2015, with an opening reception on Sunday, January 25, 12-4 p.m. (free and open to the public). Photographers retain all rights to their work. Selected photographers may offer their work for sale and establish their own price for framed and unframed prints, with sales made directly through the artist. Submissions close December 22, 2014 at midnight EST.
