Visual Art Exhibition: "The Messiah - Revisited"

An artistic exploration of George Frederick Handel's classic oratorio "The Messiah" through the creation of new and original works in the artist's preferred style and medium. This is a juried exhibit with a $25 entry fee for the first piece and $10 per entry for additional pieces. A diptych or triptych counts as one piece but must be submitted in one digital image.

Prizes will be awarded as follows: $250 Best of Show, $150 First Place, $75 Second Place, and $25 Third Place. The exhibit will open privately on January 29, 2016 for participating artists and invited guests, and will run from January 30 through February 7, 2016 for general public audiences. Art delivery days are January 24th (3-5pm), January 25th (5:30-8:30pm), and January 26-27 by appointment only.

Work may be submitted in 2D (painting, drawing, illustration, photography, printmaking, calligraphy, digital art, and mixed media), 3D (glass, clay, textiles, sculpture, and installations), or Media (film, animation, multimedia, technology or internet-based art with a maximum length of 5 minutes). 2D and 3D work must not exceed 48" in any direction and should be appropriately framed/mounted/wired and complete for hanging. All works accepted into the exhibit can be designated for sale by the artist, with the artist receiving 75% of their determined price. Forcey Worship Arts Ministry requests a minimum donation of 25% of proceeds to cover administrative expenses.
