The Members Show

Submissions are open for the Trolley Barn Gallery's Annual Members Show. The Trolley Barn Gallery brings together local creative voices, presenting thought-provoking artwork in the gallery's industrial space at 489 Main St, Poughkeepsie, New York. After merging with Barrett Art Center in 2022, The Art Effect membership includes formerly Barrett Art Members and Art Effect Alumni. The Members Show is curated by the Trolley Barn Curatorial Team and will be open to the public December 15 through January 26, 2024, with an Opening Reception on Friday, December 15, 5-7 pm. A Closing Reception will be held on January 26, 2024, from 5-7 pm, open to current and prospective Art Effect Members.

Eligibility is limited to artists who have renewed their Art Effect Individual Artist or Senior Artist Membership in 2023. Artists who become members and drop off their art and hanging fee before December 1, 2023 will be accepted into the 2023 Member Show. Entry fee is $10.00. Submissions may include up to 3 images, 3 audio files, and/or 3 video files (minimum 1 total sample required). Artwork must be exhibition ready with appropriate frames and hardware. Maximum recommended size is 7 feet in any direction; 2D artwork should not exceed 65 pounds. Contact [email protected] for consideration if work exceeds these specifications. Artists are responsible for transportation and must provide pre-paid return shipping labels. Artwork selected will be displayed in the physical gallery and in a virtual online exhibition on the Trolley Barn Gallery website.

An Individual Artist Membership includes 50% discount on submission fees for international juried exhibitions, automatic acceptance into the Members Show, early and exclusive invites to gallery events and workshops, and the opportunity to support the education of youth curators and community organizers (ages 16-22).
