About This Call
The Fine Arts League of Cary invites abstract artists to submit work for The Mayton Exhibition. Each artist may submit up to 3 works for a single $15.00 submission fee. All media are accepted, including acrylics, oils, watercolors, pastels, mixed media, photography, collage, textile, ceramic, pencil, ink, wood relief, and digitally-generated artwork. AI-generated work is allowed provided the subject is original and complies with content guidelines. All work must be original, able to hang on a wall, and ready for sale.
Size requirements: artwork must be between 10" x 10" (minimum) and 30" x 40" (maximum) without frame. Work on paper must be matted and framed. Work on canvas may be unframed if edges are painted as an integral part of the work; gallery-wrapped canvas must be at least 1.5" deep. Alternative professional presentation options such as float framing or mounting on stretchers will be considered with an additional photo submission. Hanging wire must be heavy gauge, mounted at the top third of the artwork, with no sawtooth hangers. Large works over 22" x 30" should use plastic rather than glass framing due to weight.
All work must be totally dry, ready to hang, and ready to be sold. Work delivered must be physically labeled on the back with artist name, contact information, and artwork title and price. Work not picked up by the specified deadline becomes the property of FALC. All work must be family appropriate per Town of Cary facility guidelines. The artist retains copyright but agrees to FALC's use of images for publicity and archival purposes. The entry fee is non-refundable.
