The Marks We Make - Figurative Juried Exhibition

Fort Works Art invites international artists to submit figurative works exploring presence, identity, and the power of the human form. In celebration of the Jenny Saville exhibition "The Anatomy of Painting" at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Fort Works Art announces "The Marks We Make," an open-call, national juried exhibition honoring contemporary figurative art. This exhibition is juried by Sara-Jayne Parsons, Director and Curator of the Art Galleries at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth. Selected artists will be announced via social media and receive an email with shipping information.

The exhibition is open to all artists at any stage of their career. Works must be 2-dimensional and strictly figurative. Accepted media include acrylic, oil, watercolor, drawing, pastel, and mixed media; 2-dimensional photography is not accepted. Maximum size is 60 inches high by 60 inches wide. Entry fee is $35.00. Artists may submit 1-3 images. All selected works will be featured in an exhibition at Fort Works Art Gallery in Fort Worth with an opening reception.

All works must be available for the entire run of the show and listed for sale. Works sold during the exhibition will be split 50/50 between the artist and gallery. Shipped works must be received no later than 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs, including return shipping, and must include a pre-paid return label with their work.
