The Magic Silver Show: The Elena Diane Curris Juried Photomedia Exhibition

The Clara M. Eagle Gallery is accepting entries for The Magic Silver Show: The Elena Diane Curris Juried Photography Exhibition. The Magic Silver Show began in the mid 1970s as a juried exhibition designed to encourage, foster understanding, and reward those involved in photographic media. This exhibition presents a survey of contemporary photo media in all aspects and genres of photography, film, and video. It is an open theme exhibition without restrictions on content, including still images, film, video, and moving images. Accepted entries will be on view from February 27 - March 29, 2019 in The Clara M. Eagle Gallery at Murray State University.

Entry is open to regional, national, and international artists 18 years or older working in all photo media including traditional black and white or color photography, experimental or non-traditional light sensitive processes, digital media, film, and video. The entry fee is $35.00 (U.S.) per artist for up to 10 total entries. All entries must be original, completed within the last 5 years, and not previously exhibited in The Clara M. Eagle Gallery. Work samples may include up to 10 images, 5 audio files, and 5 video files (minimum 1 total sample required). Artist Statements, Resumes/CV, and Bios may be included but are not required. All entries must be submitted via the callforentries.org website by December 31, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification of accepted entries will be emailed during the week of January 21-25, 2019.

Monetary and merit awards will be given at the discretion of the juror, with up to $2000 in cash awards available in the past. An exhibition catalogue is planned with reproductions of work by all accepted artists; accepted artists will receive a PDF digital copy. The cost of round trip shipping and insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Works must be shipped or hand delivered by February 11, 2019. The gallery will keep a 30% commission on all sales.
