The Lakeland Art Guild 50th Annual Melvin Gallery Art Exhibition

The Lakeland Art Guild 50th Annual Melvin Gallery Art Exhibition is an online exhibition running from May 14, 2022, through June 4, 2022. The exhibition will be hosted on the Lakeland Art Guild's website and YouTube, and accessible through their Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages. An online Awards Presentation and Judges Critique will be held on May 14, 2022.

Eligibility is open to all artists ages 18 and over working in the United States. Membership with the Lakeland Art Guild is not required. Artists may submit up to three original works of any medium except giclee, video, and performance. All works must have been completed within the last five years and cannot have previously won an award at a prior Melvin Gallery Art Exhibition. The entry fee is $40.00 for non-members and $30.00 for LAG members with a promo/coupon code. The fee is non-refundable and covers 1-3 pieces. Submissions are handled exclusively through CaFE. Photos must be properly oriented, free of glare, and meet CaFE file requirements (maximum 5MB, minimum 1,200 pixels on the longest side).

Awards include: Best of Show ($1,000), Gold Award ($600), Bronze Award ($400), and three Honorable Mentions ($100 each). The juror is Jason L. Moodie, Lead Arts Educator at Alvin ISD. Artists have the option to list artwork for sale during the show, with the Lakeland Art Guild handling transactions and taking a 30% commission. The artist is responsible for shipping to buyers. By submitting work, artists grant permission to the Lakeland Art Guild to use images of selected works for promotional purposes.
