About This Call
The Kingston Art Festival is a national juried art competition open to 2D work, sculpture, and photography. Entry fee is $40.00 for the first three entries, with an additional $5.00 per image up to six total entries. Applicants must submit 3-6 digital images for jury review.
All 2D work must be framed or properly wired for hanging without brackets and cannot exceed 48 inches in width or length. Sculpture must be solid standing or securely mounted. All artwork must be for sale, with Kitsap Arts & Crafts retaining a 30% commission on sales. Artwork that differs from accepted images will not be permitted in the show. Nearly $3,000 in cash awards will be distributed across all categories, including a $500 Best of Show award and a Viewers Choice award. Awards are given at the judges' discretion, and judges' decisions are final.
Physical delivery of artwork is Saturday, July 23rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kingston Community Center at Village Green on West Kingston Road. All artwork must remain until the end of the show on Sunday, July 31st at 4 p.m. Pick-up is from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 31st and 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, August 1st. For shipped work, all pieces must be suitably framed, wired, and ready for hanging. Prints, watercolors, and pastels must be framed under plexiglas (no glass). Shipped work must be packaged in a reusable container without styrofoam peanuts, and a prepaid return waybill must be enclosed. Ship to P.O. Box 1852, Kingston, WA 98346 or E. Holstein at 5941 NE Timberland Drive, Kingston, WA 98346. Notification of acceptance is July 3rd. The Preview Party Reception begins the festival on Thursday, July 28th.
