About This Call
The James Library & Center for the Arts 6th Annual Spring Juried Show is open to all mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, graphics, photography, ceramics, textiles, wood or metal work, audio and video, and mixed media. Artists must be age 18 or older, and all works must be original and created within the last three years. No pieces may have been previously shown or displayed at The James Library & Center for the Arts.
The exhibition runs from March 21 to April 26, 2025, with an opening reception on March 21 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. All accepted work will be available for viewing and purchase in person and online at JamesLibrary.org. Works should not exceed 72 inches in any dimension (including diagonal) or weigh more than 75 pounds. 2D pieces must not exceed 48 inches x 72 inches, and 3D pieces must not exceed 36 inches x 60 inches. All works must be framed or otherwise ready for hanging/installation with wired or hanger clips attached on each side. Sculpture entries cannot weigh over 200 lbs and must include any required pedestal.
Entry fee is $15 per entry with a limit of 6 entries per artist. All fees are non-refundable. Artists must submit entries online through CAFÉ (www.CallForEntry.org) by February 24, 2025 at 11:59 pm EST. Accepted works will be posted on The James Library & Center for the Arts website on March 3, 2025. Drop-off of accepted works occurs March 6, 7, and 8 during business hours. All pieces must be available for the full exhibition duration and available for sale. A 35% commission/donation to The James is due within 14 days from close of the exhibit. Pickup of unsold artwork is April 29-May 1 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A $5.00 per day fee applies for any work not picked up by May 10, 2025. The juror is Allison Rudnick, Associate Curator of Drawings and Prints at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Awards include $250 for Best in Show, $125 for Second Place, $75 for Third Place, and four honorable mentions.
