About This Call
The James Library & Center for the Arts 2025 Annual Fall Juried Show, sponsored by the Cordelia Family Foundation, is open to painting and drawing, sculpture, graphics, photography, ceramic, textiles, wood or metal work, and mixed media. Artists must be age 18 or older. No pieces may have been previously shown at The James Library & Center for the Arts, and all works must be original and created within the last three years. Entries are limited to 6 per artist at $15 per entry, plus a $15 media fee. Work samples may include up to 6 images, 6 audio files, and/or 6 video files (minimum 1 total sample required).
Works must not exceed 72 inches in any dimension (including diagonal) or weigh more than 75 pounds if hung. 2D pieces must not exceed 48 inches x 72 inches, and 3D pieces must not exceed 36 inches x 60 inches. All works must be framed or ready for hanging/installation with wiring or hanger clips on each side; no French Cleat, clamped glass, cardboard, paste-on, or saw tooth hangers are allowed. Large 2D pieces exceeding 48 inches in either direction must use acrylic glazing only. Sculpture entries cannot weigh over 200 lbs and must include any required pedestal. All accepted work must be available for the full exhibition duration and available for sale; a 35% commission/donation to The James is due within 14 days of the exhibition close.
The exhibition runs October 17 to November 22, 2025, with an opening reception on October 17 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Accepted works will be posted on October 6, 2025. Drop-off is October 8-9, 2025 during business hours. Juror is Nancy McCarthy from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Awards include $250 for Best in Show, $125 for Second Place, $75 for Third Place, and four honorable mentions. Pickup of unsold artwork is November 25-26, 2025; works not picked up by December 9, 2025 will incur a $5 per day storage fee.
