About This Call
The International Society of Experimental Artists will host the 29th Annual Juried Exhibition from August 20 to October 24, 2020 at Art Gallery of St. Albert, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. All artists 18 years and older are invited to enter one piece in this all-media exhibition. ISEA will print a full color catalog of the exhibition, which all members and accepted non-members will receive.
ISEA was formed in 1991 to provide a venue for all mediums in an annual juried exhibition. The organization focuses on experimental approaches to art-making, exploring new techniques, composition approaches, and concepts. Approximately $14,000 in prizes will be awarded, including a $2,000 Best of Show Award. Up to 90 pieces of art will be accepted, including 2D, 3D, and small installations.
Entry fees are $30 for ISEA members and $55 for non-members. Artwork must be original experimental work completed within the last three years and not previously shown in ISEA exhibitions. Submissions must include 1-2 work samples (images and/or video). 2D artwork must be ready to hang with maximum finished size of 40 inches in any direction and 30 lbs weight limit. 3D artwork must fit in an elevator with maximum dimensions of 32"W x 48"D x 72"H and 50 lbs weight limit. Video submissions must be MP4 format, 10 minutes or less, under 100 MB, with minimum resolution of 640 x 480 at 12 fps. Applicants must provide a written statement explaining the experimental aspects of their work. The juror is Brenda Malkinson, a practicing artist and educator with a diploma from Alberta College of Art and Design.
