The Healing Power of Art: Reflecting Back, Looking Forward

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for 'The Healing Power of Art' exhibit at the Kavanagh Gallery of Fine Line Creative Arts Center, St. Charles, Illinois. This national show will feature work by artists exploring the theme of healing, whether figuratively, conceptually, literally, or abstractly. Both representational and abstract 2D and 3D work in any medium will be considered. The exhibition runs January 8 – February 6, 2021.

Eligibility: Open to artists residing in the United States aged 18 and over. Up to 3 pieces may be submitted per entry. Artwork must be original, completed in the last two years, and not previously shown at Fine Line. All pieces must be for sale. Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable). An artist statement limited to 1000 characters is required. Images submitted must be of the actual work to be exhibited.

The Kavanagh Gallery Committee will curate the show. Awards of $800 in prizes will be awarded (judge to be determined). Jury decisions are based on creativity, quality of artistry, and originality. Notification of jury decisions will be sent via email on or before November 15, 2020. Fine Line handles show installation, opening reception, and sales. A 30% sales commission applies to any artwork sold during the show. Artists are not required to be present during the show. Fine Line provides 24/7 security and insurance coverage (valued at 70% of sale price) from receipt of work until the end of the show. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and insurance during transit. Artwork must be delivered by hand on January 5, 2021 (10 am – 6 pm) and picked up or shipped on February 9, 2021 (10 am – 6 pm). Size limit: 48 inches x 32 inches x 6 feet, not to exceed 50 pounds.
