The Gallery at Mayfair

The Gallery at Mayfair is a juried art exhibition welcoming artists from across the United States who work in any visual art media. The exhibition is located in the Collector's Café on the grounds of the Mayfair Festival of the Arts, which has been running for 27 consecutive years and attracts 35,000-45,000 annual visitors from eastern PA and western NJ. All artists 18 and over may apply. The entry fee is $35, and artists may submit up to three works for consideration.

Work will be displayed at Lehigh County Agricultural Society's Exhibit Hall, Allentown Fairgrounds, 1950 Liberty St., Allentown, PA from Friday, May 23, 10 a.m. through Monday, May 26, 2014, 7 p.m. For 2D work, the maximum size is 30" x 30" including frame, and work must be framed and prepared for hanging. 3D work may be displayed on the floor or pedestal, with the artist providing the pedestal. All media is eligible.

Prizes totaling $1,000 are awarded: First Place $500 (1 awarded) and Second Place $250 (2 awarded). The juror is Ricardo Viera, professor and director/curator of the Lehigh University Art Galleries/Museum, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Acceptance notification will be provided on or before March 18, 2014. If work is sold during the festival, artists will receive 70% of the sale price by June 30, 2014. In-person delivery is available Wednesday, May 21, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shipped work must be professionally packaged and include pre-paid return shipping and insurance, and will only be accepted on Thursday May 15, Friday May 16, or Monday May 19, 2014. Work may be picked up on Festival grounds Tuesday, May 27, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
