The Future: LAPS International Exchange Membership Print Exhibition

Members of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society are invited to submit work for a membership exhibition opening at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Gallery in Venice, Italy from July 28th to August 15th, 2015. The exhibition theme aligns with "All the World's Futures," the theme of the 2015 Venice Biennale. Work will be presented un-matted and unframed on the gallery walls and will travel to Venice via secure mailing tube.

This membership exhibition will be juried by artist Stas Orlovski, a contemporary artist working in paintings, drawings, prints, and animation, and one of the artists selected to represent Los Angeles for the Venice Biennale 2015. Entry deadline is May 15th, 2015, with jury notification on June 1st, 2015. Accepted artists must deliver work to Los Angeles by July 1st, 2015. Work will be shipped back to artists the week of August 20th; LAPS will cover shipping costs to Italy, but artists must provide pre-paid return shipping labels.

Original works in all traditional printmaking processes including monotypes are acceptable; small artist books will be considered if easy to package. Traditional photography, offset reproductions, and strictly digital prints will not be considered. Work must not exceed 36" on any edge and cannot be three-dimensional or have fragile surfaces, as prints will be rolled with glassine interleaving. Entry fee is $15.00 for up to 3 images; only one print will be selected per artist. Accepted artists are responsible for shipping to Los Angeles only. LAPS Members should carry insurance on their own artwork as artwork in transit will have limited insurance coverage. Upon acceptance, work must be available for the duration of the exhibition.
