About This Call
The Fine Art of Photography is the tenth annual juried exhibition and competition open to all photographers and artists submitting photography. The competition features two categories: Black and White (all forms of black-and-white photography containing tones of neutral grey ranging from black to white, including monochromatic hues such as sepia, cyan, or brown) and Color (images that contain a spectrum of colors). Painted photographs, digital artwork not created through photography, or other mixed media artwork containing photographs will not be accepted. All work must be for sale.
Artists may submit 1 to 15 images via CAFÉ (Call for Entry) from February 1st through March 15th. Entry fee is $15.00 for the first image and $10.00 for each additional image. Selected artists will be notified by April 1st. The maximum number of entries per artist is 15, but only one image per artist will be selected for exhibition. Previous submissions selected for exhibition in earlier Annual Juried Art Shows or Annual Fine Art of Photography Exhibitions may not be entered.
Awards include $500 Best in Show, and per category: $250 First Place, $175 Second Place, $100 Third Place, and two Honorable Mentions. Only one award will be given to a particular artist. The opening reception and awards ceremony is Saturday, May 2nd from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. The exhibition runs from May 2nd through June 13th. Framed work should not exceed 36 inches in any direction and must be wired and ready for hanging. Drop-off dates are April 24th-26th; shipped artwork must arrive no later than April 24th. The Plymouth Guild receives commission on all sales: 30% from members, 40% from non-members. Work is submitted at the artist's risk.
