The Figure: Portraiture & Narrative - A Juried Exhibition

Wayne Art Center invites submissions for The Figure: Portraiture & Narrative - A Juried Exhibition, running October 13 through November 16, 2024 in the Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Gallery at 413 Maplewood Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087.

Artists 18 and older from PA, NJ, NY, DE, MD, VA and Washington, D.C. are eligible to submit up to two original works created between 2022 and 2024 in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography and mixed media that explore portraiture and visual storytelling. All works must be for sale and have not been previously exhibited at Wayne Art Center. 3D work should not weigh more than 70 lbs. The entry fee is $50 for up to 2 artworks. Submissions must include 1-4 images at 300 dpi resolution in JPEG format, under 5mb each. Online entries are accepted July 23 through September 16, 2024 at midnight EST. Notification of accepted work will be sent September 25, 2024.

Accepted works must be hand-delivered to Wayne Art Center on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 between 10am-5pm. No shipped work will be accepted. Prizes totaling $3,000+ will be awarded and presented at the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 3-5pm. The exhibition closes Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 4pm. Work retrieval is available Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 4-5pm and Monday, November 18, 2024 from 10am-5pm. Wayne Art Center retains 40% commission on all sales.
