About This Call
The Figure: Interpreted Through Contemporary Mediums is an international juried art exhibition at Site:Brooklyn, a street level gallery located in the Gowanus arts district. The exhibition runs January 19 - February 19, 2017, with an opening reception on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 6-9PM. This open call invites artists to submit work that explores the distinct, varied, and symbolic nature of the figure in painting, printmaking, and mixed media. The juror is Barbara A. MacAdam, Co-Executive Editor of ARTNews.
Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in two-dimensional media including drawing, painting, printmaking, and mixed media. Submissions must include 3-12 images. The entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $10 for each additional image. All entries must be received by midnight, December 5, 2016 MDT. Notification of acceptance will be made via email by December 12, 2016, with a confirmation of participation required by December 19, 2016. $1,000 in prizes will be awarded.
Accepted work must be suitably framed to professional standards and ready for hanging, with a maximum size of 48" w x 60" h x 4" d. All artwork must be priced for sale. Site:Brooklyn will retain a 40% commission on all exhibition sales. Shipped artwork must arrive between December 26, 2016 and January 12, 2017. Hand delivery is available January 11-12 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Hand-delivered work must be removed February 20-21 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance. Site:Brooklyn assumes no liability for loss or damage to artwork.
