The Family Portrait

Clay Art Center invites artists to submit works for "The Family Portrait," an exhibition exploring the family unit as image, system, and historical reference. The 2020 gallery theme is Welcome Home, focusing on elements that make a home and the interaction of people within that create our sense of identity. Guest juror Kukuli Velarde, an internationally renowned Peruvian-born artist, will select works that examine family as a contemporary metaphor for culture, society, and our sense of self.

Eligibility is open to currently enrolled undergraduate, graduate, or non-matriculated artists (with previous degree) in the United States over the age of 18. Primary medium must be in clay. Works presented must be available and for sale at time of show. Applicants may submit no more than 3 artworks. The entry fee is $25. Applications are accepted online only at www.callforentry.org. Submission deadline is June 30, 2020 at midnight EST. Notification of selections will be sent July 21, 2020. Work must be received September 1-7, 2020 and will be returned by the end of November 2020. Gallery commission is 40% of selling price.
