The Fall Art Show 2023

The Fall Art Show 2023 is an open juried exhibition hosted by the Lake Granbury Art Association. The exhibition runs from August 31, 2023 through October 29, 2023 at Shanley House Gallery, 224 North Travis St., Granbury, TX 76048. The official opening is Thursday, August 31, 2023, with a reception and awards presentation on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 6:00-8:00pm.

Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years of age and over. Artwork must have been executed in the last 3 years and must not have been exhibited in any previous Lake Granbury Art Association sponsored juried competition. Only original, two or three-dimensional art is eligible. Accepted mediums include painting (oil, water media, acrylic), drawing (charcoal, graphite, pastel, pen and ink, pencil), dimensional fine art (glass, ceramics, clay, fiber, sculpture, leather, metal, wood, jewelry), graphics (computer art, digital art, print making, photography, no AI), and mixed media (mixed media, collage). No nudes are permitted. Work done in any class or under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible.

Entry fee is $45.00 for one entry and $10.00 for each additional entry, with a maximum of 3 entries per artist. Submissions deadline is Monday, July 31, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Acceptance notification begins Monday, August 7, 2023 by email. Art delivery ends Saturday, August 26, 2023 with no late deliveries accepted. Hand-delivered pieces are accepted at Shanley House Gallery on Friday, August 25 and Saturday, August 26 from 10:00am-1:00pm. Shipped deliveries must arrive by August 26, 2023 and must include a reusable shipping carton and pre-paid return address label. All work must be insured by the artist.

Two-dimensional work must not exceed 40" in width and 72" in height including the frame, with image size of 9x12 inches or larger excluding the frame/mat. Two-dimensional work must be suitably framed or gallery-wrapped canvas with all sides painted (not white), and must be ready to hang with heavy-gauge wire attached to the back. Three-dimensional work must not exceed 60lbs in weight or 60 inches in any direction. All work must be gallery ready or it will not be displayed.

The juror is Teal Blake, a western artist and member of the Cowboy Artists of America. The juror will select up to 50 images for exhibition. Accepted work will be judged as a whole and in individual media categories. Awards include a $1000 Best of Show Award and a total of $3000 in awards anticipated. All works must be available for sale at current market value. Lake Granbury Art Association retains 25% commission on all sales. The organization reserves the right to photograph artwork and use digital images for exhibition programs and publicity purposes.
