About This Call
The Decatur Arts Alliance seeks sculptures to be placed in the city of Decatur, Georgia as part of the Decatur Artway, a two-year sculpture exhibition. Sculptors are encouraged to submit existing, ready-to-install works constructed of durable materials that will withstand outdoor elements. No maquettes or renderings will be considered.
Selected artists will receive an honorarium of $2,000. The installed work may be available for sale, with the Decatur Arts Alliance retaining a 20% commission on any sales. The sculpture must remain installed for the duration of the two-year contract. Work installation dates are scheduled for mid to late October, subject to change due to pandemic restrictions and artist limitations.
The Decatur Arts Alliance will partner with the Decatur Tourism Bureau and Downtown Development Authority to market the Decatur Artway through printed walking/cycling/driving sculpture tours, an online tour with mobile app, and docent-led tours. The opening will include an artist talk that will be videotaped and featured on the mobile app and website. Entry fee is $25.00. Submissions must include 3-20 images of the work.
