About This Call
The Decatur Arts Alliance seeks sculptures to be placed in the city of Decatur, Georgia as part of the Decatur Artway, a two-year sculpture exhibition. Selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $2,000. Installed work may be available for sale, with the Decatur Arts Alliance retaining a 20% commission on any sales.
Sculptures must be professionally constructed of durable materials that will withstand outdoor elements and must remain installed for the full two-year contract period. No maquettes or renderings will be considered; all durable outdoor media are encouraged. Delivery and installation of selected work will be scheduled for the week of October 16-21, 2018.
The Decatur Arts Alliance will partner with the Decatur Tourism Bureau and Downtown Development Authority to market the Decatur Artway through printed walking/cycling/driving tours, an online tour with mobile app, and docent-led tours. The opening will include an artist talk that will be videotaped and featured on the mobile app and website. Entry fee is $20.00. Applicants must submit 3-20 images of their work.
