About This Call
The Dairy Center for the Arts invites artists and arts organizations from the United States and beyond to submit proposals for individual and group shows of any and all visual art mediums for the year 2011. Through The Dairy's Colorado Community Curator (CCC) program, any Colorado resident may submit a proposal for a show which includes the work of artists from any state or any country. The person submitting the proposal will be considered the exhibitor and will be responsible for the exhibit as described in the prospectus.
The Dairy's Visual Arts Committee, comprised of artists, university faculty, art collectors and members of The Dairy's Board of Directors, juries proposals to create each year's exhibition schedule. In 2011, The Dairy will host eighteen shows in its three gallery spaces. The Dairy Center for the Arts is a non-profit cultural arts organization housed in the historic Watts-Hardy Dairy building. Each year 150,000 people come to The Dairy to experience visual art, dramatic theater, comedy, live music, film and dance through exhibits, classes, workshops, and performances.
Entry fee is $35.00. Submissions must include 10 images. Artists who have had an individual show or exhibited two or more pieces in a group show at The Dairy may not exhibit there for 24 months following that show. No artist may show work at The Dairy that has been shown in the Boulder area in the 12 months prior to their Dairy show. All work accepted to be exhibited at The Dairy shall be no more than three years old at the time of exhibition. Work older than three years may be submitted to the jury with an exhibit proposal to demonstrate artistic ability, intent and style.
