The Cutting Edge - A Contemporary Glass Exhibition

The Cutting Edge is a contemporary glass exhibition open to all artists everywhere, national and international. Artists who have created work using any of the following techniques are encouraged to apply: blowing, cold-working, copper foil, flame-working, fusing, hot-sculpting, kiln-casting, leading, pâté-de-verre, slumping and more.

All artwork submissions must be composed of at least 50% glass and must be original and completed within the last two years. Artwork cannot have been previously exhibited at Blue Line Arts. Two-dimensional artwork must be ready to hang with wire installed (no sawtooth hangers). All artwork must be for sale. Art must be able to enter through doors with a clearance of 94"h x 91"w, ceilings are 10 feet high with the option to suspend installations from the ceiling, and nothing over 100 lbs will be accepted. Accepted artwork that differs significantly from the image in the online submission will be disqualified. No accepted entry may be withdrawn or sold outside of the exhibition prior to the closing date.

The entry fee is $25 (non-refundable) for up to 10 images. Submit 1-10 images renamed in the format: LastNameFirstName_ArtworkTitle. You must be 18 years or older to apply. Exhibition dates are September 2 - October 14, 2023. Artist notification is August 4, 2023. Shipping deadline is August 19, 2023, or hand delivery August 27-28 from 10:00am-3:00pm. Opening reception is Saturday, September 16 from 5-7pm. Non-member artists receive a 50% commission from gallery sales; Blue Line Arts Artist Members receive 60% commission. Artist Membership starts at $75 and is valid for one year. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and are strongly encouraged to obtain their own insurance.
