The Critter Crawl

The Brighton Cultural Arts Commission is requesting proposals from professional artists to design and install 18 small sculptures of dogs in Downtown Brighton, Colorado. The sculptures will include 6 different dogs in 3 poses, approximately 10" tall with anthropomorphic/human characteristics. The project will also include a larger sculpture featuring one sculpture of each of the 6 different dogs. The Brighton Cultural Arts Commission will identify 18 locations in downtown Brighton for the small sculptures, with the artist assisting in placement.

The initial submission is due by February 14, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST and must include qualifications, prior sculptures completed, costs for the sculpture, and a written description or drawing of proposed sculptures. The Brighton Cultural Arts Commission will appoint a committee to review submissions and select 5 to 7 proposals for further consideration. Selected artists will be invited to an interview scheduled for the week of May 5, 2025, where they will present a detailed mock-up of the suggested sculptures including installation costs. The sculptures must be completed by December 31, 2025.

This is a national call for professional artists within the United States. Applicants should submit 1-10 images as work samples.
