About This Call
Art Saint Louis presents "The Conversation," an all media juried visual art exhibition featuring artworks created by at least two artists working in concert with one another to create a unique artwork. The final collaborative artwork should be a resolved piece that clearly shows a dialogue or conversation between all artists who contributed to the creation of the piece.
Eligibility: Open to artists 21 years of age and older living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius. Each artwork must be created by a minimum of two artists with no maximum. Artists must be residents of the St. Louis region/200-mile radius when the show begins (January 8, 2022) in order to submit work and participate if selected. Artworks must be created/completed between 2018-2021. Limit 3 original artworks in all media, styles, subjects, themes, and techniques. Work samples: 1-6 images and 0-3 videos (minimum 1 total sample). Entry fees: $25 for non-members, $15 for Art Saint Louis members.
Jurors: Ilene Berman, sculptor and Assistant Professor of Art at Saint Louis University; Kevin Kao, artist and Assistant Professor of Art at Furman University. Awards: $250 Best of Show Award of Excellence, 4 non-cash Awards of Excellence, and up to 3 Honorable Mentions. Award of Excellence recipients will be eligible for the "Honor Awards 2024" ten-artist curated exhibit (June 7-July 11, 2024). Exhibition: January 8-February 16, 2022 at Art Saint Louis, 1223 Pine Street, St. Louis, MO 63103. Free reception Saturday, January 15, 5-7 p.m. Gallery hours: Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m., closed Sundays and holidays. Jurying is conducted blind/anonymously with no artist names revealed to jurors during the selection process. Artists may not contact jurors about their entries.
