The Contemporary Print 2017

PrintAustin invites entries for the 4th annual juried national exhibition "The Contemporary Print" to be held at O2 Space @ Flatbed Press Headquarters in Austin, Texas, January 10–February 18, 2017. The exhibition will survey traditions and innovations of contemporary printmaking. While non-traditional or digital output is accepted as a print element, submissions must utilize traditional print media as their primary technique including lithography, relief, intaglio, silkscreen, and monotype.

Eligibility: Open to artists 18 years and older residing in the United States. Any 2-D or 3-D work including ceramics, sculpture, mixed media and artists' books that uses printmaking as the sole or major technique is eligible. Work cannot exceed 72 inches in any direction. No traditional or digital photography will be accepted. Works previously exhibited in past Contemporary Print exhibitions are not eligible.

Entry fees: $35 for up to 3 entries; $10 for each additional entry (maximum 10 entries total). Submit 3-10 images via CallForEntry.org by October 1, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Images must be JPEG format, minimum 1920 pixels on longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, maximum 5 MB. Cash awards: 1st Prize $400, 2nd Prize $300, 3rd Prize $200. Juror: Susan Tallman, Editor-in-Chief of Art in Print. Opening reception January 20, 6-8pm. Closing reception and awards ceremony February 9, 6-8pm. Email notifications sent by November 15, 2016.
