About This Call

The Chautauqua National Juried Exhibition: Truth And Consequences is a national juried exhibition open to any artist 18 years or older. Artists may enter work in any medium except video. All entries must be original work not previously shown in the Giles Gallery. Each artist may enter up to three pieces. The entry fee is $35 for a total of three entries.

Work specifications: Maximum size is 55" in any dimension. All work must be suitable for presentation or framed. Wall pieces must have appropriate hardware for hanging. Plexiglas glazing only is permitted; the director will exclude work that does not conform to this standard. Any accepted work that differs significantly from the entered image may be disqualified. Note that gallery walls are carpet covered ¾" plywood, which may affect transparent pieces, and some screws are too long for the walls.

Important dates: Entry deadline is 11/9/18. Drop off of hand-delivered work is 01/12/19 from 1:00-4:00 PM. Last date for receipt of all accepted work is 01/14/19. Exhibition opens 01/22/19 with a reception from 5:00-7:00 PM on 01/24/19. Exhibition closes 2/15/19. Pick-up date for hand-delivered work is 2/16/19 from 1:00-4:00 PM. All shipped work will be returned in its original container with prepaid label. Cash prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the juror. As an academic gallery, Giles does not take a commission on the sale of any art. Eastern Kentucky reserves the right to reproduce accepted work for purposes of publicity. Contact: Esther E. Randall, Director, (859) 622-1639, [email protected].
