The Chautauqua National Exhibition: What if?

The Chautauqua National Exhibition: What if? is a national exhibition open to any artist 18 years or older. Artists may submit up to three pieces in any medium except video. All entries must be original work by the artist. The entry fee is $30.

Work specifications: Maximum size is 60" in any dimension. All work must be suitable for presentation or framed. Wall pieces must have appropriate hardware for hanging. Plexiglas glazing only is permitted; the director will exclude work that does not conform to this standard. Any accepted work that differs significantly from the entered image may be disqualified. Note that gallery walls are carpet-covered ¾" plywood, which may affect transparent pieces, and some screws may be too long for the walls.

Juror: John Begley, Louisville artist, curator and former gallery director (BFA with Distinction, University of New Mexico, 1969; MFA, Indiana University, 1975). He recently retired from the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville and maintains an active individual studio practice.

Important dates: Entry deadline is 11/20/15. Drop-off of hand-delivered work is 01/16/16 from 1:00-4:00 PM. Last date for receipt of all accepted work is 01/22/16. Exhibition opens 01/25/16 with reception 01/28/16 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Exhibition closes 2/19/16. Pick-up date for hand-delivered work is 2/20/16 from 1:00-4:00 PM. All shipped work will be returned in its original container with prepaid label.
