The Cat and Dog Show

Core Art Space invites submissions for The Cat and Dog Show, an open call exhibition featuring artwork depicting cats and dogs. All styles of imagery are welcome, whether the subjects are beloved pets or not. All media will be considered, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, mixed media, ceramics, fiber, and sculpture. Video is not accepted.

Up to 3 entries must be submitted electronically by April 12, 2026, with a $35.00 entry fee. Artwork must be original and within size parameters: 2-D work no larger than 60 inches on its longest side (including frame), and 3-D work within 36"x36"x36". 2-D artwork must be received ready to hang on standard picture hooks. 3-D works should be free-standing or hangable from the ceiling with a 20 lb. weight limit. Sawtooth hangers are not permitted.

Notification of acceptance will be sent April 16, 2026. Accepted artwork must arrive at Core Art Space by Saturday, May 2, 2026, by 4:00 pm if hand-delivered, or by the same date if shipped to the designated offsite location. The exhibition runs Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 24, 2026. An artist reception will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, 5:00-9:00 pm at the Core Art Space gallery, 6501 West Colfax, Lakewood. The juror is Tim Vacca, an arts professional with over two decades of experience in exhibitions and public art across Colorado. Core Art Space charges a 30% commission plus tax on artwork sold.
