The Casa Bonita Art Show - Mi Casa es Su Casa

NEXT Gallery hosts the 5th Annual Casa Bonita Art Show – Mi Casa es Su Casa, a national juried exhibition celebrating Casa Bonita, a 52,000 sq-ft restaurant in Lakewood, Colorado that opened in 1974. The restaurant features a 3-story waterfall, gunfights, gorilla chases, puppet shows, and a haunted cave. All artwork must directly relate to Casa Bonita and tell the story of this important part of our collective history. The show seeks art that explores the fables, facts, fictions, and legends of Casa Bonita, creating a visual snapshot of the experience. This call is open to artwork in all mediums.

Submissions will be juried by Casa Bonita Art Show founder Dolla B and Casa Bonita Aficionado Andrew Novick. Cash prizes will be awarded: Best in Show $250, Second Place $100, Third Place $50, and People's Choice $50. The entry fee is $30 for up to 3 art pieces. Accepted work will be exhibited at NEXT Gallery from February 18 - March 6, 2022. Accepted artwork must be received by February 15, 2022 and may be hand delivered or mailed with return shipping information included. Results of judging will be emailed the week of January 31, 2022.

Artwork sold during the exhibition will incur a 30% commission. Prices quoted on the entry form may not be changed after acceptance. Unsold artwork must be picked up March 7, 2022; NEXT Gallery has limited storage space and artwork left for more than 30 days will be considered property of NEXT Gallery. Mailed artwork will be returned the week of March 7, 2022. All artwork must be original in concept and not copied from another artist's work.
