The Book Cover Exhibition

The Book Cover Exhibition celebrates the fine art of judging a book by its cover. Artists are asked to create works of art for the cover of a real or imagined book (you may or may not include the title in the artwork itself). This call is for two-dimensional work only. Artists are urged to enter work that is innovative in content or approach. Artist's work will be displayed at the Tubac Center of the Arts and then moved to the Tucson Festival of the Book for one weekend, before returning to the Center.

Entry fee is $35 ($30 with TCA Member discount), with an additional $5 per image for up to 4 entries ($3 each additional image fee with TCA Member discount). Up to four works may be entered for consideration in jpg format only. All artwork must arrive ready to hang. If framed, work must be suitably matted (white, black or neutral colors preferred), simply framed and firmly wired. No saw tooth hangers. Entry must be original, entirely the work of the artist, executed within the last 24 months, and cannot have been previously shown at TCA. Giclee reproductions printed on canvas are not permitted. All work must be for sale, and TCA will retain a 40% commission.

Juror: Tiffinie Greer, a working artist, dancer, and actor living in Los Angeles whose work has been shown in Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Atlanta, Edinburgh, Scotland, and London. The exhibition runs February 24 to April 9, 2017 at the Tubac Center of the Arts, with a showing at The Tucson Festival of the Book on Saturday & Sunday, March 11 & 12, 2017. Shipped art is due February 15, 2017; hand delivered art is due Monday, February 20, 2017. Art must be picked up by Monday, April 17, 2017.
